Targeted Muscle Map

Your Garmin watch shows which muscles you worked, but only when exercises use the correct FIT category IDs. liftosaur2garmin automatically maps your Liftosaur exercises to Garmin's proprietary database. Your bench press lights up your chest, and your deadlifts target your posterior chain. No more generic, empty "Strength" entries in Garmin Connect.

❀️

Heart-Rate-Based Calories

liftosaur2garmin aligns your daily high-resolution heart rate data with your workout window, applying the Keytel metabolic formula to compute calories using your exact age, weight, and gender.

🏷️

Your Workout Names, on Garmin

A synced activity shows up as "Strength Training" by default. liftosaur2garmin automatically renames it to match your Liftosaur routine: "Upper Body Push," "5/3/1 Squat Week 2," or whatever you named it.

Common questions

Do I need a Liftosaur premium subscription?
Yes. Liftosaur's API requires a premium subscription to generate an API key (available in Liftosaur β†’ Settings β†’ API Keys).
What if an exercise is not mapped correctly?
You can configure custom mappings for any exercise directly in the Mappings tab of your liftosaur2garmin dashboard. 550+ exercises are mapped out-of-the-box.
Does this work with the Garmin Connect mobile app?
Yes. FIT files are uploaded directly to the Garmin Cloud, meaning they immediately show up on Garmin Connect mobile (iOS and Android), web, and sync to your smartwatch history.
Can I sync historical workouts?
Yes. The sync service retrieves up to 100 of your most recent workouts from Liftosaur. It tracks already-uploaded workouts to prevent duplicates.
Where are my Garmin credentials stored?
Your credentials stay entirely on your local machine running liftosaur2garmin. For security, credentials are encrypted at rest with a custom key you configure during setup.
